Immelt in the Beijing press conference announced, GE will invest $500000000 to strengthen the research and development activities and the establishment of a plurality of innovation center in Chinese, better service to the southwest, northwest, northeast and central market. He also committed more than $1500000000 to build a new joint venture. GE plans to establish innovation centers in six city, the first phase of the candidate city including Chengdu, Shenyang and xi'an. The new innovation center to focus on new product research and development, application development and procurement support, covering industries including medical, renewable energy, smart grid, energy efficient lighting, water treatment, transport and aviation company GE important business. The innovation center and GE in R & D institutions in Shanghai, Beijing and Wuxi to form a synergistic effect.
    Immelt also announced a series of joint venture agreement with China partners to a new, involving business areas including locomotive propulsion system, railway signal system, smart grid technology, distribution and city rail transportation solutions.
